Every year, millions of youth and adults face the destabilizing labyrinth of New York’s courts and criminal legal system. Black, brown, working class and poor people are disproportionately targeted as a result of deep-rooted racism and classism in our system. We work alongside people who have been arrested or incarcerated to co-create pathways to housing, jobs and education.
Our legal services, court support, sentencing mitigation and jail-based programs aim to address the injustices of the criminal legal system. We work to preserve families and fortify communities by fostering healing and growth, including through community-based alternatives to incarceration.

Sentencing Mitigation
Creation of sentencing mitigation reports with defense counsel to advocate for alternatives to incarceration and restorative justice for people with convictions.
Court Advocacy
Support for people in NYC involved in court, including testifying on behalf of participants, alternatives to incarceration and access to our holistic services.
Alternatives to Incarceration
Alternatives to incarceration program to keep participants out of jail through an array of resources and community-based services to address individual needs.
Jail-Based Reintegration Services
Support for people incarcerated at Onondaga County Correctional Facility to successfully transition back into the community.
Interactive Journaling
Therapeutic interactive journaling for people incarcerated at the Onondaga County Correctional Facility and participants in Syracuse.
Employment Services
Employment services for people impacted by the criminal legal system, including training, career planning, placement and mental health support.
Reentry Advocacy
Free civic restoration services in Syracuse and Rochester for people with conviction records to understand their rights while seeking employment and advocating against discrimination.
