Support for People Who Have Been Arrested or Incarcerated

Court support and advocacy, sentencing mitigation, alternatives-to-incarceration and support for people who are currently or formerly incarcerated.
SEE PROGRAMS

At CCA, we know that the safest communities are the ones with the most support and resources— not the highest rates of incarceration.

Every year, millions of youth and adults face the destabilizing labyrinth of New York’s courts and criminal legal system. Black, brown, working class and poor people are disproportionately targeted as a result of deep-rooted racism and classism in our system. We work alongside people who have been arrested or incarcerated to co-create pathways to housing, jobs and education.

Our legal services, court support, sentencing mitigation and jail-based programs aim to address the injustices of the criminal legal system. We work to preserve families and fortify communities by fostering healing and growth, including through community-based alternatives to incarceration.

“We are gathering our energies, laying the groundwork for a much bigger expansion throughout New York.”
