The evidenced based Interactive Journaling (IJ) Cognitive Behavioral Intervention (CBI) is a key component of Reintegration Services programming. IJ is customizable to a participant’s specific interests/needs and supports their pursuit of mindset change. It is offered at the County Jail and our Syracuse location.
According to a white paper published by the Change Company, 92% of individuals described their Journals as helpful and those that completed were 10 times more likely to engage in employment.
A program graduate shared, “My change started in jail doing the journals. Doing the journals was the force that got me started. It helped give me the courage to do what I needed to do when I was released. The journals really gave me confidence in my abilities to achieve my ambitions of getting housing and reuniting with my family, which I have done -- and it was hard, and I needed to be in recovery and give it 100%. [The program] has supported me while in jail and now when I'm out of jail. Having [services] in jail and out made the difference to me."
