Reverend Edith R. Mayfield
Reverend Edith R. Mayfield is an ordained minister and serves as the Associate Minister to the Woods Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church. She is a lifelong resident of the Bronx, NY who has a zeal for public service and for helping people.
Rev. Mayfield received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business at Marymount College of Fordham University and her Master of Divinity Degree from Indiana Wesley Seminary. With over two decades of legal and business experience (also an experienced tax professional), as a real estate paralegal, she has built a successful, secular career path.
Rev. Mayfield was happily married to and the proud spouse of the late Marvin E. Mayfield, Jr., Director of Organizing for the Center to Community Alternatives; he was a fierce advocate who worked with all stakeholders on key criminal justice reforms, including The Clean Slate Act, the end to Cash Bail (JustLeadershipUSA), Campaign to Close Rikers (JLUSA), and Communities Not Cages (Eliminate Mandatory Minimums Act, Second Look Act, and Earned Time Act). As a CCA volunteer, she is poised to build on her late husband’s life and legacy through her service on CCA’s Board of Directors. Her blended family includes three adult sons.
