David M. Schraver, Esq.
David Schraver’s practice has involved a broad range of complex civil and commercial litigation in state and federal courts, with a special emphasis on Indian law, energy/utilities litigation, contract litigation, and fiduciary and professional liability. He is a founding member of Nixon Peabody LLP’s Indian Law & Gaming team, which has been recognized as a nationally ranked practice by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. Mr. Schraver is a past president of the New York State Bar Association and the Monroe County Bar Association.
Mr. Schraver has served as a member of the firm’s governing committee, partner evaluation committee, professional responsibility committee, and operations committee, and as chair of the firm’s litigation department and chair of the personnel committee. He has been actively involved in the firm’s continuing legal education program and has served as an instructor in interviewing, counseling, and negotiating skills. He is also an author and has spoken on Indian law and on matters of legal ethics and professionalism.
Before joining the firm, he was on active duty in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Mr. Schraver has been elected by his peers to be included in The Best Lawyers in America® for Commercial Litigation and Super Lawyers. Mr. Schraver is admitted to practice in New York, several US district courts and courts of appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
