The NextGen Neighborhood Network is a youth reentry initiative led by the Center for Community Alternatives in partnership with grassroots neighborhood organizations across New York City.
Every year, NextGen prepares over 700 formerly incarcerated youth and young adults for employment with local businesses and positions them as leaders within their communities. We develop relationships with youth prior to their release through weekly reentry planning workshops at all NYC detention and jail facilities.
Upon release, youth are connected to neighborhood-based partner organizations that provide mentoring, job readiness, paid internships, therapeutic services, and family engagement.
CCA serves as the administrative and technical support hub of NextGen, and provides capacity-building support to organizations within the network, which are truly grassroots neighborhood groups, founded by and for their communities.
