Mack Hueber
James Mack Hueber serves as the CFO of Beak and Skiff, regularly awarded the “Best Apple Orchard in the United States.” This family-owned orchard has been growing apples since onion farmer George Skiff and dairy farmer Andrew Beak joined forces in 1911 to plant apples on a hillside along Rte. 20, south of Syracuse in LaFayette, NY. The orchard operates both wholesale and retail businesses, including its Apple Hill Country Store. For the apple picking public, Gala, McIntosh, Ginger Gold and Paula Red are just a few of the varieties offered from late August through late October. Live music events, Cider Fests, Orchard Runs and a Kids’ Magic Show add entertainment to the apple picking. In addition, Beak and Skiff produces a variety of alcoholic beverages and ciders under its 1911 brand, including wine, gin, and vodka, for which it has won numerous awards.
Mr. Hueber also serves as the president of Gen V Labs, a related entity, through which Beak and Skiff grows and produces cannabis products. In August 2022, New York State awarded them one of the first cannabis processing licenses in the state. They currently grow, harvest, dry, process and distribute edible and beverage cannabis products to each of the licensed dispensaries in New York State.
Mr. Hueber received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance & Accounting from Lehigh University and is a chartered financial analyst (CFA). Prior to joining Beak and Skiff, he served as a financial analyst and executive for the Macquarie Group in New York City, along with other prior positions in finance.
