Craig Rothfeld is a criminologist, criminal justice advisor, and advocate who represents individuals incarcerated within the custody of the NYC Department of Correction (NYCDOC), the NYS Department of Corrections & Community Supervision (NYSDOCCS), Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), various additional State Departments of Corrections and numerous individuals and families that are either on parole or no longer incarcerated. His practice is focused on advising and advocating for individuals, their families, and their legal defense teams on pre- and post-criminal sentencing mitigation strategies and life during incarceration. In addition to his primary practice, Mr. Rothfeld has consulted for a variety of organizations including The Justice Advocacy Group and the Fortune Society.

Mr. Rothfeld holds a Bachelor of Science from The State University of NY at Albany where he majored in accounting, and Master of Business Administration from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at NYU with a dual concentration in Finance & International Business. Mr. Rothfeld previously held a Certified Public Accounting license for approximately ten years and worked in the financial services industry for approximately 20 years. In addition, Mr. Rothfeld holds a Post Graduate Certification in Criminal Sentencing & Sentencing Advocacy and Master of Arts in Criminal Justice, both from Arizona State University’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Mr. Rothfeld teaches Continuing Legal Education Classes (CLE) to the various NYS bar associations such as the BBA, KCBA, NYCBA, and NYSACDL, is an 18-B approved mitigation specialist, and has been retained as a NYS expert on a dual jurisdiction death penalty case.
