Ron Boxx

Ron Boxx serves as Director of Upstate Workforce Development. He has 19 years of experience working in Human Services and specializes in workforce development and anti-poverty initiatives which battle the collateral consequences of incarceration.

He oversees programming offering pre- and post-release reentry services including Cognitive Behavioral Interventions, employment readiness, vocational training, career services, and case management. CCA’s workforce development programs offer innovative sectoral employment pathways in healthcare, culinary, construction and retail industries, with emerging opportunities in advanced manufacturing and cannabis. The culinary pathway has received national attention and was featured on NPR. Under Ron’s leadership, CCA has been awarded multiple highly competitive Federal reentry grants.

Ron is an accomplished facilitator and public speaker who has presented at national conferences hosted by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the US Department of Labor, the National Reentry Workforce Collaborative, and the New York Association of Incarcerated Education Programs. Additionally, Ron has served as chair of the Onondaga County Adult Education Roundtable. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and certifications in Motivational Interviewing, NYCOMPAS, and Thinking for a Change.

In his free time, Ron enjoys outdoor activities with his family in Upstate New York and rooting for the mighty Florida Gators.
